Overview

Mathew Riberdy is a litigation attorney in the Washington practice group. Mathew joined Reinisch Wilson in June 2022. His practice focuses on providing strong defense through crafting specific, tailored solutions best representing clients’ interests.

Mathew grew up in a hard-working, blue-collar town near Chicago. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mathew spent time working in an array of different industries ranging from landscape architecture and ecology to financial institutions and accounting. Mathew’s experience across many different industries provided him with unique insights and a comprehensive understanding of the challenges employers face.

Before joining the Firm, Mathew practiced law in Oregon as a plaintiff’s civil trial lawyer at a small Portland firm. During his time as a civil litigator, Mathew developed valuable experience litigating complex, sensitive legal matters involving wrongful death, catastrophic injury, and professional malpractice often involving high sums of damages. Mathew understands and appreciates the dedication, diligence, and passionate effort necessary to successfully navigate complex legal matters through every stage of litigation.

Exceptional client service is the most fundamental aspect of legal practice. I deeply believe that achieving true client satisfaction is a highly-prized reward in itself and defining of a favorable outcome. To achieve favorable legal outcomes, I commit myself to develop an organized, deep understanding of my clients’ particular needs, goals, and interests. Prompt communication with careful attention to fostering personable, genuine client relationships is vital to those ends.

The laws of worker’s compensation are complex and ever-changing. The circumstances of a specific claim often evolve without warning. For even the most well-intentioned, the constantly shifting target toward case resolution can be a frustrating experience. My clients deserve legal counsel that is readily available to listen to their emergent needs with an eye toward working together to achieve resolutions. As a trusted and effective advocate, I aim to ensure my clients never sense they are alone and can find comfort in seeing a clear path forward.

Beyond legal practice, I make as many attempts as possible to explore the outdoors and natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest together with my fiancée. I enjoy camping, disc golf, paddle sports, and exploring the remote backcountry during the warmer seasons. During the winter, I spend time reading science fiction, playing board games with friends, cross country skiing and watching the Portland Trail Blazers.
