About the St. Andrew Legal Clinic from the Sponsorship page:
St. Andrew Legal Clinic (SALC) is a non-profit law firm that provides low-cost legal services to families in crisis. SALC is committed to providing security for children, support to women in crisis, and access to justice for the working poor.
In the past 36 years, SALC has helped nearly 60,000 people in our region persevere through times of domestic crisis and uncertainty. Many cases involve domestic violence prevention and resolution of child custody and support issues. Clients pay on a sliding scale based on their income, but to a great extent SALC is a community-supported non-profit law firm that relies on donations to bridge the gap.
The Race for Justice, now in its 17th year, helps SALC raise much-needed funds to serve as many families as possible. Though SALC is a serious cause, the Race for Justice is a fun way to support the families who look to SALC for support and advocacy. The race is enjoyed by competitive runners and leisurely walkers. Families often participate together and young children have the opportunity to get their energy out in a Kids’ Fun Run.
The money raised at the Race for Justice goes directly to serve SALC clients. Your participation in the race touches the lives of those who are often marginalized and left to struggle without hope. Your support provides the children in these struggling families a more positive and safe environment in which to thrive.
